Senior Administrative Manager /Administrative Manager (for Postgraduate Programmes Management)
School of Graduate Studies
(Post Ref.: 25/88)
The School of Graduate Studies is established for strengthening the central support for postgraduate programmes as well as the monitoring of their quality in alignment with the University’s strategic direction of expanding and providing quality postgraduate education.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide administrative support in various functional areas of the School including, but not limited to, academic quality assurance and enhancement of taught and research postgraduate programmes, programme budgeting
- Serve as the Secretary of the Board of Graduate Studies
- Provide secretarial support to ad-hoc committees
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 10 years’ post qualification experience, preferably with the tertiary education institutions
- Substantial management and administrative experience with a high level of competence in committee work
- Very strong local thinking, analytical, interpersonal, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
- The ability to take the initiative and carry out duties independently and under tight schedules
- A strong sense of responsibility
- Very good people management skills, with the ability to motivate junior colleagues to achieve common goals of the School and the University
- An excellent command of written and verbal English and Chinese (including Putonghua), especially with a high level of English proficiency in writing reports, proposals and minutes
- A good knowledge in IT applications
- Previous experience in academic quality assurance and enhancement of taught programmes in a university setting is preferred and will be a definite advantage
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
