We are now seeking a self-driven, passionate and experienced candidate to fill the following position:

Primary Deputy Principal (English) (Ref: PRI/PDP/202312153_jdb)

The Primary Deputy Principal (English) is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the Primary Principal in leading and managing the Primary school. This position emphasizes strategic development and direction for the Primary School, pedagogical leadership, policy and protocol implementation, support for faculty staff, data- driven decision-making, and community engagement. The Deputy Principal (English) is dedicated to cultivating a positive learning environment and ensuring an excellent holistic education for all students.

The Deputy Principal’s responsibilities include the following:

Strategy and Direction

• Drive strategic leadership in partnership with the Primary Leadership Team (PLT) to align school programs with ISF's mission.
• Lead the implementation of the Strategic Action Plan for primary learning, teaching, and pastoral care.
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance of all academic policies across Primary transitions.

Policy and Protocol Implementation

• Manage the review and execution of all academic policies and communication protocols.
• Oversee the efficient creation and distribution of student academic reports.

Managing and Leading

• Lead, manage, and mentor Assistant Principals and the Director of Curriculum.
• Directly manage the recruitment, professional development (PL), and appraisal (PGRP) of the Primary English faculty.
• Contribute to Whole-School academic initiatives and cross-divisional alignment.

Academic Performance Monitoring

• Conduct instructional observations and provide targeted feedback to uphold high standards.
• Oversee school-wide academic interventions and support for students in the English medium.

Data-driven decision-Making

• Analyze student performance data to drive instructional improvements and strategic academic support.
• Supervise policies related to academic progression and intervention tracking.

Community Engagement

• Strengthen home-school partnerships through open communication and organizing parent engagement events (e.g., Coffee Mornings).
• Ensure parents are informed and supported regarding their child's progress.

Safeguarding

Act as a senior leader in safeguarding and child protection, promoting best practices and managing critical incidents as part of the PLT.

Qualifications:

• Significant experience in the primary phase of education (Foundation Year to Grade 5);
• Minimum five years of leadership experience as an assistant principal or equivalent;
• Master's Degree in Leadership or in Education (desirable);
• Experience working with leadership teams, leading teams, and coaching teachers; and
• Experience working with diverse teaching populations, in bilingual working environments (desirable).
