Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of business development strategies to expand existing client relationships and identify new business opportunities.

  • Owns and drives the global client relationship, ensuring long-term growth on a global scale.

  • Defines and steers the overall sourcing and vendor strategy across Connor’s global network.

  • Identifies opportunities in process and sourcing initiatives, provides strategic guidance and project leadership on continuous improvement.

  • Lead a team of managers, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high performance, client satisfaction, and growth. Help develop team members' skills and careers while encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  • Identifies and develops new markets, vendor networks, and product categories worldwide.

  • Directs global product development to support client differentiation, brand goals and vendor strategy. Ensuring that client projects are delivered on time, within budget, to the highest quality, and all client deliverables meet or exceed expectations.

  • Advises clients using macro trends, market intelligence, and global insights.

  • Ensures issues are addressed with globally aligned, proactive solutions.

 

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, design, or a related field is preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years in client management, business development, or a related field, with significant experience in furniture products.

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully creating and implementing strategies with cross functional teams.

  • Prior experience in a buying agent or trading company environment is highly preferred, especially in managing the US market.

  • Deep knowledge of all furniture categories and experience with international sourcing, and market dynamics in US and Europe.

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, providing guidance and fostering collaboration to achieve business objectives and enhance client satisfaction.

  • Expertise in furniture product design, manufacturing, and sourcing processes. Knowledge of product quality standards, sustainability trends, and the competitive landscape in the home goods and furniture markets.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence and engage senior executives and stakeholders, both internally and externally.

  • Based in Hong Kong with a willingness to travel frequently for client meetings, sourcing, and project oversight.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on resolving complex issues.
