Engineer (Innovation & Technology)

Responsibilities

• Lead innovation projects and adopt new technologies in construction projects.

• Explore and develop new technologies to optimize and improve construction processes.

• Conduct research and perform data analysis on emerging trends in construction technology.

• Review and evaluate external research papers on innovative construction methods.

• Analyze and optimize existing engineering processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

• Collaborate with project teams to integrate innovative solutions, from proposal preparation to project completion.

• Establish and execute strategic plans to replicate successful innovative applications in similar projects.

• Assist in research funding applications and apply for Innovative Technology Funding.

• Assist in the registration of intellectual property (IP) rights for new technologies.

• Prepare routine reports for direct supervisors on the progress of research and development initiatives.

• Conduct inter-departmental meetings and provide progress reports to align common goals, KPIs, and values.

• Visit and inspect construction sites as needed.

Requirements

• Degree in Building / Civil / Mechanical Engineering / Information Engineering / Computer Science / Electronic Engineering or a relevant discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry or engineering R&D.

• Familiarity with relevant software and digital tools (e.g., CAD, BIM, GIS, Power BI, DMS, DWSS, AI, etc.)

• Knowledge in sustainable construction practices is an advantage.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently.

• Accept setbacks in innovation, and think in agile mindset to improve.

• Excellent communication and team-working abilities.

• Enthusiastic in exploring and learning the latest technologies that benefit the construction industry.

Candidate with less experience will be considered as Co-Ordinator or Assistant Co-Ordinator.
