Coaching Service for the English Debate Team

To ensure the sustainable development of the English Debate Team, we are looking for a dedicated and committed English debate coaching service provider who can equip our students with essential debating and communication skills for the academic year 2025-2026.

Responsibilities

The debate coach’s role is to:

• hold weekly practice sessions from 3.45 pm to 5.15 pm;
• teach team members, who are mostly Forms 1 to 3 students debating techniques, such as formulating arguments, making rebuttals and critical reasoning;
• develop debaters’ oral communication skills, such as fluency, posture & gestures, stress and intonation;
• coach students for external competitions; and
• assist in organizing and adjudicating debate competitions.

Service Period: late September/ October 2025 – April 2026

Experience

We are looking for someone who:

• Has extensive experience in local and/or international debating competitions.
• Possesses a thorough understanding of various debating formats, including Local Schools Style, World Schools Style, and preferably British Parliamentary Style.
• Ideally has experience coaching debate at the secondary school level.
• Is well-informed about socioeconomic issues.
• Demonstrates a strong command of the English language.
