Office of Academic Links

The Office of Academic Links (OAL) serves as the international relations arm of the University, responsible for its global engagements in research and education initiatives. Much of its effort is devoted to the internationalisation of the University’s teaching, student experience, research, and outreach. The Office is now seeking a high-calibre candidate to join its team of professionals dedicated to promoting the global engagement of the University and organising programmes to support internationalisation. The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) implementing a summer research programme for international students; (b) supporting the administration of research grants, mobility schemes, fellowship and visitorship programmes; (c) supporting the development of partnerships, including incoming delegation visits and high-level outreach programmes; (d) supporting initiatives and activities in relation to the University’s global engagements, including event organisation, such as international conferences and workshops; (e) preparing internal and external communication materials, including social media publicity; (f) maintaining databases and websites; and (g) performing other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least 2 years’ relevant work experience; (iii) an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (iv) experience in working with people from other language and cultural backgrounds and a team player with a positive work attitude; (v) experience in physical and virtual event organisation;
(vi) strong communication and organisational skills; (vii) proficiency in MS Office and other computer applications; and (viii) the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. 

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
