Consultant (System Engineer) - IES

Work you'll do

• Install and configure new Servers and users workstations
• Maintain and perform troubleshooting on user workstations and Servers
• Interact and follow up with vendors and government departments for maintenance and fault reported for any computer equipment and software until case completed
• Maintain the inventory record of the computer equipment
• Provide technical assistance for relocating/establishing computer equipment
• Perform day-to-day LAN Administration jobs,
• Manage and configure network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
• Implement and manage security policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data
• Perform regular system backups and ensure data recovery processes are in place
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues
• Document and maintain system configurations, procedures, and policies
• Train and assist end-users in the use of hardware and software

We are looking for someone with

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• At least 4 years of experience in one or more of the following:

1. Performing LAN Administration jobs
2. Maintaining and performing troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows or Linux servers
3. Supporting Windows system services including DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory

At least 2 years of experience in one or more of the following:

1. Providing help-desk and technical support for Microsoft Windows workstations
2. Supporting standard office applications including MS Outlook and MS Office
3. Supporting MDM service and mobile devices (in particular iOS devices)
4. Supporting server hardware and network equipment
5. Supporting VPN
6. Monitoring of LAN/WAN/VPN network performance
7. Troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and configuration problems in PCs and notebooks
8. Managing centralised backup system, e.g. ArcServe R16 or above

Below support experience is preferred:

1. Prior support experience in Government department(s)
2. Maintaining and supporting websites using tools like Adobe Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ASP

Holder of below professional certifications is a definite advantage:

1. Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or equivalent
2. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
3. IBM Certified System Administrator (CLP) - Lotus Notes and Domino
