職位描述

Job Description

We are looking to appoint a full time Educational Assistant to work within the Individual Learning Needs Faculty at Island School.

About Island School

Island School is a vibrant, co-educational international school with approximately 1350 students aged 11 to 18. We offer a broad and challenging curriculum that includes our own competency led courses alongside the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), IGCSE pathways, IB Diploma Programme (DP) and IB Career-related Programme (CP). We are located in the heart of Hong Kong Island, and benefit from a stunning, purpose-built campus, with state-of-the-art facilities.

Full Description

Our EAs perform an incredibly important role in helping our students achieve their potential. The role of an EA at Island School is broad and varied; it involves collaborating with subject teachers to plan and adapt materials and resources to support students. EAs also work individually with students, facilitate small group learning, and provide general English support, particularly with academic writing across various curriculum areas. We are seeking a confident and patient individual with a good sense of humor and native-level English proficiency.

Candidates must be orally fluent in English and have an excellent standard of written English. The candidate must be able to support the development of secondary students’ literacy skills and numeracy skills. The successful candidate will support students in mainstream lessons across the curriculum, including the school’s cross-curricular inter-disciplinary topics amongst others, as well as in small groups and individually when withdrawn. An ability to be flexible and imaginative in your responses to students’ learning will be very important. This is particularly important because the target students have a range of learning diverse needs including dyslexia, ADHD and ASD. They may need literacy or executive functioning support.
