Job Posting Details

The University is now looking for a high caliber professional to join our building services (operation & maintenance) team.

The appointee will provide administrative and technical support on operation and maintenance of the University’s ELV, Lift / Escalator and Energy Related Services installation, including Access Control, CCTV, Public Address, CABD, Dimmer, Lift & Escalator, etc. to ensure they are operated and maintained in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.

The appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

  1. Oversee the repair, operation and maintenance of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Systems, Lifts and Escalators.
  2. Monitor building energy usage, analyze data and prepare monthly utilities (including water, electricity, etc.) consumption summary reports and update energy saving web site information.
  3. Supervise and monitor the progress of maintenance contractors/service providers to carry out the given duties on campus or off campus premises.
  4. Lead and monitor the performance of maintenance contractors and identify the potential areas for improvement.
  5. Design and prepare specifications and drawings for the improvement and planned maintenance works;
  6. Liaise and coordinate with campus users, internal departments and services contractors on the planned maintenance, daily operation, replacement, improvement and upgrading works of BS installations to provide quality of work to campus users.
  7. Prepare reports using MS Office applications.
  8. Perform overnight shift duty (approx. a week every 2 months) and attend emergency duties; and
  9. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Applicants should have an associate degree/higher diploma/higher certificate in electrical engineering, building services engineering or related disciplines plus at least 5 years of relevant work experience, 3 years of which should be at supervisory level.  A good command of both spoken and written Chinese (including Putonghua) and English as well as AutoCAD application is essential.  The ideal candidate should also have good analytical and organizational skills, strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently.  Applicants with valid REW is preferred.

Appointment to the position will normally be on two-year fixed term contract basis, renewable on mutual agreement.  Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including continuing education subsidy, annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
