A role you will love

The role is responsible for providing a comprehensive People service to the regional offices in Hong Kong and China. You will work closely with our global People teams to support effective local delivery to review and drive improvements in policies, practices and procedures in Asia.  Your role will be key to shaping our People experience for both Managers and Employees. 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:  

  • Provide expert advice to managers and stakeholders ensuring People related matters are dealt with promptly and effectively in line with our policies, ensuring a seamless experience for employees and ensuring our managers are driving performance management across the region

  • Handle workplace concerns and issues by investigating employee relations cases, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, and fostering a positive work environment

  • Support the delivery of our global People functions within the region: Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Service Delivery, Payroll, and Employee Relations working collaboratively with the global People Team Centre of Excellences to deliver in line with our global standards and processes

  • Understand the business plans / goals and priorities and help them achieve through effective People insight and support

  • Create visibility of the people services through reporting / metrics for relevant stakeholders

  • Support the business on organizational change initiatives

  • Collaboration and communication with senior leadership, employees and external partners

  • Foster a positive work culture, that aligns with our Being Purple Values, promoting well-being and driving engagement initiatives

What will you bring to the role?   

To excel in this role, you must have a good understanding of global trends and practices in HR. You will also be familiar with the relevant employment law environment, including trends and policy changes.  You will have experience of writing employment policies as well as supporting managers through sensitive employee issues.  

Summary of skills and experience required:

  • 10 years’ work experience with specialized experience in a multi-national organization in Asia

  • Past experience of working in a Global People Team as a generalist to provide specialist advice and coaching to managers and employees to implement People processes and policies

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic team environment and interact with people across all levels of the organization to ensure reliability, availability, scalability, and performance of applications

  • Ability to lead projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • High-level problem-solving capability is required to ensure solutions for improvement deliver business benefit

  • Excellent English, Cantonese and Mandarin skills
