We are now inviting suitable candidate(s) to join us in the Office for Advancement of Learning and Teaching for the following post(s):
Assistant AV Technology Officer (ALTO) (Ref: 25001MM)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee shall be responsible mainly for the following:
- Setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio-visual systems in various venues, including classrooms, lecture theatres, auditoriums, laboratories, and conference halls;
- Operating audio, video, and lighting consoles during live events such as ceremonies, conferences, graduations, seminars, theatrical performances, and musical productions;
- Providing front-line support for AV-related issues and handling user enquiries and service requests;
- Adjusting LED wall processors to accommodate different layers and layouts for event-specific requirements;
- Configuring and operating video live switchers, network equipment, and computer systems to enable seamless switching of multi-camera and computer signals for live streaming;
- Providing on-site standby and technical support for seminars, webinars, and other events;
- Programming AV control systems, including Crestron, Q-SYS and Extron control processors;
- Operating and troubleshooting AV systems related to LED walls, TV displays, digital signage, graphic processors, and video systems;
- Preparing documentation, such as AV instructions for teaching venues; and
- Undertaking other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement of Learning and Teaching and his/her nominees.
The appointee will be required to work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays / Sundays/ Public holidays. The work locations will include the Main Campus, Jockey Club Campus, Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare at Homantin, MU Tower at Hung Hom and Kwai Hing Campus.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A higher diploma, preferably a recognized degree, in Audio-Visual Technology, Electronic Engineering, Digital Film and Television, or a related area;
- At least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
- Solid experience in operating and setting up audio-visual equipment for large events in the auditorium and theatre;
- Knowledge of and experience in Zoom video conference tool and AV over IP system;
- Holding of Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS and Dante programming certificates will be a definite advantage; and
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and proficient in both English & Chinese.
Candidates will be invited to attend a trade test.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
