We are now looking for suitable persons to fill the following position in the School of Nursing and Health Studies:

Course Developer (Service Learning in Community Care) (N&HS) (Ref: 24000N3) 

Course Code: NURS 2203NCD

Course Title: Service Learning in Community Care

Background

NURS 2203NCD is a 3-credit-unit course in the Diploma in Health Studies (Community Health Care) programme. This course aims to provide students with essential knowledge in service learning. Through planning and conducting a service learning project, students can apply their health care knowledge and skill to a specified group of community clients.

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

  1. explain the concept and principles of service learning.
  2. assess and identify community health need.
  3. plan a service learning project in community care.
  4. implement a service learning project in community care.
  5. evaluate a service learning project in community care.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Revising the existing syllabus and course contents as directed;
  • Developing updated learning materials;
  • Developing assessment items (including specimen paper, assignment questions, examination paper, and corresponding marking schemes); and
  • Preparing a course guide for the course.

Candidates

Candidates are expected to possess the following:

  • A higher degree and teaching experience in Nursing;
  • Good command of written Chinese;
  • Preferably with experience in teaching distance learning courses; and
  • Previous involvement in developing course materials for a higher institution is a definite advantage.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidate(s) will be appointed on a freelance project basis.
