The Department of Ocean Science is searching for a dynamic, mature, self-motivated and passionate individual to fill the position of Assistant Manager.  Reporting to the Department Head and Program Directors, the appointee will help to manage the Department’s taught postgraduate programs; oversee the daily operations of MSc programs; assist Program Directors in budgeting, program management and development, QA/QC; maintain alumni relationship; identify collaborators in Hong Kong and overseas for internship opportunities; and perform other duties as assigned.  The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or above with at least 4 years of work experience in the higher education sector.  Prior experience in program administration is strongly preferred.  The appointee should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; the ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines; and an appropriate level of IT skills.  The appointee should also be a good team player with multi-tasking ability. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
