We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:
Freelance Producer (A&SS) (Ref: 25002V8)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The course developer will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Collaborating with directors and creative teams to define the project’s vision and overseeing its development, ensuring alignment with creative and production goals;
- Assembling and managing creative and technical teams, overseeing production schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of materials;
- Drafting and managing consent forms, agreements, and intellectual property (IP) documentation while addressing risks and implementing contingency plans;
- Providing creative oversight, review deliverables such as storyboards, animatics, and rough cuts, while acting as a liaison between teams and stakeholders to maintain quality and consistency;
- Planning and executing marketing and promotional strategies, organising screenings, facilitating international animation short film festival submissions, and ensuring the final product meets industry standards for delivery to stakeholders; and
- Performing any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Candidates
Candidates are expected to possess the following:
- A recognized degree with at least 5 years’ relevant post-qualification working experience in the film and creative industry;
- Industry recognition and experience in short film production would be an advantage;
- Good abilities in project management related to film production;
- Strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal and communication skills, multi-tasking and time management skills, and the ability to work under pressure and complete tasks independently;
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and good with problem solving;
- Good information technology skills including MS Office tools and data analysis tools etc.; and
- Good command of English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidates will be appointed on a freelance contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
Duration of Appointment
The appointee(s) will be required to work for the period from January 2026 to January 2027. The hours of work may vary by course.
