Inspector of Works (loW)

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspection and attend all site meetings at various units/centres and be responsible for necessary building repairs and maintenance, refurbishment, extension and re-provisioning;
• Monitor the standard of workmanship against the contract documents and good building practice in Hong Kong conforming to the relevant Building Services or Code of Practice as specified by the Consultant (the Architect/ Building Surveyor);
• Monitor site progress and relevant commissioning activities;
• Act as Authorised Person and Client/Employer Representatives for liaison, clarification and negotiation with consultant/contractor over all technical matters;
• Prepare routine inspection reports, cost estimates, tender documents, tender drawings and keep records of works carried out; and
• Enforce relevant regulations and compliance relating to design, construction and building procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies/Civil Engineering /Building Services from a Hong Kong Polytechnic/Technical Institute/IVE or equivalent;
• At least 6 years of relevant experience preferably in building works, civil engineering works and building services works of which four years shall be in position equivalent to Assistant Inspector of Works in a Government or quasi-Government project; and
• Hands on experience with Builder’s Works, Building Services and Civil Engineering projects.

Remuneration

Monthly salary starts from $53,980.
