Our mission is enriching cooking experiences and to bring people together around international cuisines with high-quality, innovative kitchen tools and accessories. We are poised to launch our Kitalma brand directly to USA consumers (D2C) through online channels and are seeking a seasoned eCommerce & Marketing Director to lead our digital sales and marketing efforts.
Position Overview:
The eCommerce & Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and executing AEH USA's online sales and marketing strategy for the Kitalma brand. This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in eCommerce, particularly within the D2C space, and proficiency with platforms such as Shopify, Meta, Google, Amazon and relevant associated sales and marketing apps. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital marketing, data-driven decision-making, and a proven track record of driving online sales growth. This position will be hired under AEH for AEH USA.
Key Responsibilities:
- eCommerce Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive eCommerce strategy to launch and grow the Kitalma brand’s online presence. Focus on driving sales, enhancing user experience, and increasing customer engagement.
- Platform Management: Oversee the development and management of the Kitalma eCommerce site on Shopify. Ensure the platform is optimized for performance, user experience, and conversion rates.
- Digital Marketing Campaigns: Plan, execute, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email marketing, search engine marketing (SEM), and display advertising. Leverage data and analytics to refine strategies and maximize cost of customer acquisition ROI’s.
- Content Strategy: Develop and manage a content budget and strategy that includes product descriptions, blog posts, social media content, and other digital assets to engage and convert customers.
- SEO & SEM: Implement and manage SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic to the eCommerce site. Oversee SEM campaigns to capture targeted traffic and drive conversions.
- Influencer and Affiliate Marketing: Develop and manage influencer and affiliate marketing programs to expand brand reach and drive sales. Identify and collaborate with influencers and affiliates who align with the Kitalma brand, negotiate partnerships, and track performance metrics to ensure effective ROI.
- Customer Acquisition & Retention: Develop and execute strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones. Utilize email marketing tools, loyalty programs, and personalized marketing techniques to increase customer lifetime transactional value and encourage multiple unit carts and repeat purchasing.
- Analytics & Reporting: Monitor, analyze, and report on eCommerce performance metrics, marketing campaign results, and customer behavior. Use insights to drive continuous improvement and inform decision-making. Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management.
- Forecasting: Create and maintain rolling inventory demand forecasts at SKU level to ensure excellent customer service and 100% ecommerce order fulfilment rates.
- Managing fulfillment supply chain operations: understand ecommerce logistics (including production/ordering lead times and inventory levels to prevent stockouts) and the full-funnel customer journey. Build customer loyalty and help hone the brand’s experience through branded custom packaging and unboxing.
- 3rd Party Logistics Management: Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to streamline operations and ensure efficient order fulfillment, shipping, and delivery. Work to optimize logistics processes to support the digital sales efforts and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing eCommerce and marketing team including office-based, remote and virtual colleagues. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to achieve functional and company goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product development, customer service, and logistics teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from product discovery to delivery.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential opportunities, trends, and competitive landscape. Analyze data to make informed decisions and develop targeted digital marketing and sales strategies.
- Product Development: Work with Kitalma consumers to test new product concepts in support of the product development process. Attend monthly Sales & Marketing Meetings with the Hong Kong office, prepare a monthly report and take an active part in that forum to ensure the successful achievement of the company objectives.
- Brand(s) Presence: In conjunction with the AEH USA Wholesale Business Development Team, assist efforts to grow the online brand presence of group brands on key omni-channel customer sites.
- Staying abreast of new developments in ecommerce, online marketing, and technology to keep the company at the forefront of the digital marketplace
- Travel: The scope of this position will require a level of traveling, especially in the initial (first year) of the assignment. Depending on the accounts and Sales Rep groups onboarded, this position may be required to travel to any part of the United States. Regular meetings will be held with the Head Office in Hong Kong, some of which may require in-person attendance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in eCommerce and digital marketing, with a focus on D2C brands.
- Proven track record of driving significant online sales growth and managing successful eCommerce sites, preferably on Shopify.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and tactics, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, influencer / affiliate programs and content marketing.
- Proficiency with eCommerce platforms, particularly Shopify, and associated tools and technologies.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience in the kitchenware or consumer goods industry is a plus.
- Candidates must have a deep understanding of U.S. culture, ideally having lived in the United States for at least 15 years with significant local exposure.
- Position will be based in HK.

- Understand strengths and weaknesses of subordinates (when relevant); delegate appropriately to achieve business goals.
