PLC Engineer

Position: PLC Engineer (Control Engineer)

Location: Hong Kong International Airport, T2

Working hours: Office hours

Job Description:

• Support of Low-Level-Control’s systems, and PLC issues raised by operations & maintenance team.
• Able to diagnose and rectify Low-Level-Controls and PLC faults within tight deadline.
• Tackle control fault finding on equipment like Conveyors, ICS, EBS, NERAK lift and other automated system.
• Work with cross-functional Engineering team, Project team, Maintenance team and external vendor to resolve the technical issue, implement solution and improve system.
• Provide technical support for root cause analysis related to control system issues, failures and write up incident summaries and provide reports as and when required.
• Coordinate and work with Vanderlande Global service desk on incident management.

• Provide technical support and expertise to maintenance teams.
• Drive continuous improvement through enhancements to existing control software and hardware systems.
• Support on orientation and training for new joiner in Vanderlande team and maintenance partner team.
• Work effectively with other Engineers, Technicians, and Operational staff.
• Ensure all electrical and control work adheres to safety regulations, codes and quality standard.

Skills and Qualification:

• A technical bachelor’s degree/diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical, Software or Industrial Automation.
• At least 5 years’ experience in maintenance of automated Baggage Handling System, Material Handling Systems or similar industries having high-level and low-level control systems.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance of Industrial automation control systems based on PLC.
• Knowledge and experience in programming and troubleshooting using Siemens S7.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of programming principle, systems and equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams to diagnose issues.
• Knowledge and experience with industrial control equipment i.e. PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, etc.
• 24x7 support may be required for critical situations and prepared to participate in stand-by after office hours.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple demands, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good Reading, Writing and Communication skills in English language and local language.
