Our mobile application, SmartRehab, is an AI-powered automated telerehabilitation platform encompassing a range of exercises for patients requiring neuro- and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. As part of a World Stroke Organisation funded project, our platform is currently being utilised in different healthcare settings in seven countries. SmartRehab has received numerous local and international awards including a Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2024. We are a finalist in the Asia Technology Entrepreneurship Competition (ATEC) 2025. We are looking for a passionate software engineer to help further develop the platform to benefit more patients globally.

Responsibilities

Ÿ  Collaborate with different stakeholders (healthcare professionals, patients, and other software engineers, both locally and internationally).

Ÿ  Develop and maintain the backend API server using PHP and Laravel 9.0 for both the mobile app and web console.

Ÿ  Design and implement the web console using React and Ant Design (antd).

Ÿ  Manage database operations and maintain PostgreSQL for optimal performance.

Ÿ  Handle server management using Nginx and ensure smooth deployment using Docker and AWS.

Ÿ  Analyze and maintain existing software applications, ensuring reliability and performance.

Ÿ  Discover and fix programming bugs and issues as they arise.

Requirements

Ÿ   Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.

Ÿ   1+ years of working experience in web development and backend technologies.

Ÿ   Hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel 9.0 for API development.

Ÿ   Familiarity with React and Ant Design (antd) for web console development.

Ÿ   Familiarity with PostgreSQL database management.

Ÿ   Familiarity with server management using Nginx and deployment using Docker and AWS.

Ÿ   Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude.

Ÿ   Passionate about the IT industry and interested in exploring new technologies.

Ÿ   Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

Preferred Qualifications

Ÿ  Experience in participating in open-source projects or industry-related projects.

Ÿ  Understanding of CI/CD processes and related tools.

Ÿ  Familiarity with Frontend Development concepts and technologies.
