Software Engineer – trading desk

On behalf of a global, multi-asset, we are seeking a top-tier developer who can leverage innovative technology and data-driven strategies to navigate the complexities of global financial markets.

The ideal candidate will be adept in problem-solving, possess strong programming skills, and have a passion for technology and finance. You will work on challenging projects that involve designing and implementing robust software solutions to support trading operations.

What this role requires:

Whilst we are industry agnostic it is very likely that you will have a background in a top-tier technology company (FAANG or similar.) and/or startup environment. Alternatively, you will have worked on research and innovation led projects from within financial services.

Role:

• • Collaborate with quantitative researchers and traders to develop and enhance trading systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance software applications.
  • Optimize existing systems for speed and efficiency.
  • Engage in code reviews and contribute to the team's best practices.
  • Analyse complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.

Requirements:

• • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java or Python.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
  • Experience with distributed systems and high-performance computing.
  • Experience using Python for any of data analysis, visualisation, and/or machine learning would be very well regarded.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts and trading systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptionally strong English language communication and teamwork skills.
