HAVC Mechanical Engineer, Data Centre

Job Highlights :

1. Monitor and analyze the overall operation status of the data center through the DCIM/BMS/SCADA system, respond to the alarms triggered by the data center systems 24/7 and coordinate the team members to conduct on-site diagnosis and analysis of the alarms.
2. As the on-site commander in case of emergency, coordinate and command the resources within the team to perform emergency recovery operations according to the EOP document.
3. Create a knowledge base document for on-site fault diagnosis and maintenance of the data center and assist in continuous optimization.

Job Responsibilities :

1. Formulation of HVAC System Operation and Maintenance Plans: Develop annual preventive maintenance plans for the HVAC system, drill plans, and personnel training plans.
2. Personnel Training: Conduct professional HVAC system knowledge training for operation and maintenance personnel. perform assessments and reviews of training effectiveness.
3. HVAC System Facility Operation and Maintenance: Carry out planned preventive maintenance work on HVAC system equipment.
4. Fault Handling: Effectively handle HVAC system faults to minimize impact on business operations and ensure reliable system operation; regularly analyze and address safety/stability issues in daily HVAC system operations.
5. Operation Optimization: Optimize the operation schemes of the data center HVAC system and implement energy-saving and emission-reduction measures.
6. Responsible for the availability and continuity of the data center MVAC system service indicators.
7. Responsible for the service recovery of each system in the data center within the specified SLA time limit.
8. Responsible for responding and diagnosing the monitoring alarms or event ticket of each system in the data center within the specified time limit.
9. Ensure that the quality of various services provided by the team (such as inspection/fault diagnosis/emergency drills) meets the quality requirements in the SOW.
10. Liaise closely with facility managers, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate resources and resolve on-site issues.
11. Maintain accurate facility technical records (equipment manuals, maintenance logs, inspection reports) in both Chinese and English, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
12. Develop and update facility maintenance plans, optimizing procedures to enhance equipment reliability and service life.

Job Requirements :

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
2. More than 4 years of experience in data center facility operation and maintenance management, and more than 6 years of experience in MVAC system maintenance and management.
3. Minimum 3 years of HVAC work experience; familiar with data center chilled water systems, refrigeration auxiliary systems, and air-conditioning system operation and maintenance.
4. Ability to diagnose faults in data center MVAC systems.
5. Hold Registering Electrical Worker (A/B/C) or HVAC Certificate with Candidates with fire protection management experience is an advantage.
6. Familiarity with EMSD and FSD inspection processes and legal requirements, with experience in handling government approvals is a plus.
7. Solid knowledge of MVAC systems, proficient in the operation principles and maintenance standards of MVAC.
8. Ability to read technical drawings (CAD plans), equipment manuals, and bilingual technical documents. Familiar with office software.
9. Strong problem-solving and on-site adaptability, capable of independently diagnosing equipment faults and developing repair plans.
10. Fluent in Cantonese and English (spoken and written), able to communicate technical details and prepare bilingual reports.
