Duties
The appointees will be required to:
(a) handle research grant and project matters, including those of the Mainland, which involve coordination of research grant applications, progress monitoring of research projects and submission of reports to external funding bodies, etc.;
(b) coordinate the submission/provision of research-related data and perform data analysis;
(c) review grant-related contracts and agreements;
(d) provide support to research-related committees;
(e) provide administrative support and assist in organising activities for the Office and other research-oriented units when needed;
(f) liaise with internal and external stakeholders in matters of research grants and contracts;
(g) supervise junior staff;
(h) coordinate and supervise all aspects of administration of the Office; and
(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.
Qualification
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree;
(b) have at least five years of solid administrative and supervisory experience, preferably with research administrative experience gained in the higher education setting;
(c) have good ability in supporting committee work;
(d) have experience/ability in improving operations efficiency;
(e) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and fluency in Putonghua;
(f) possess good knowledge of using office computer software and applications, with experience in development and maintenance of computer application system being a distinct advantage;
(g) have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as a good analytical skill; and
(h) be proactive and able to work independently.
Applicants with less supervisory experience may be considered for appointment at a lower level.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
