Assistant Computer Officer (Ref. 240000UL) (Closing date: May 2, 2024)

The Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services is seeking an Assistant Computer Officer to join the Research Administration Team to support the upcoming Research Assessment Exercise and related activities. 

The appointee will be responsible for (a) developing and maintaining a presentation interface and associated backend system for an institutional digital repository of staff research outputs; (b) ensuring system integration of the repository with the main submission platform; (c) providing system administration and training support; and (d) performing ad-hoc tasks as assigned. 

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management, or related disciplines; (ii) at least 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience; (iii) solid experience in web development; (iv) experience in data extraction and reporting using common SQL tools; (v) excellent analytical skills; and (vi) a self-motivated work attitude and the ability to work independently. 

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract).
