Sports Science Technician

Sports Science Technician (at the rank of Senior Technical Assistant) in the Centre for Sports and Exercise (Ref.: 530869) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a recognized degree, preferably in Sports and/or Exercise Science, Sports Performance Coaching or equivalent.  They should have excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese; good interpersonal, communication and information & database management skills; IT proficiency; and the ability to deal and interact with users in a positive and professional manner.  They should also be able to work actively and independently as well as in a team, with demonstration of leadership qualities being an advantage.  Holder of recognized certifications in fitness training or coaching will also be advantageous.  

The appointee will provide health and fitness services for programs and projects held at the HKU B-Active, Centre for Sports and Exercise; provide evidence-based quality training advice and programming to different special populations; adhere to exercise interventions for tightly controlled research-based projects; conduct health and fitness and lab-based assessments; prepare presentations, reports and educational materials; and undertake other duties as assigned.
