Project Manager/ Assistant Project Manager
Job Highlight
Job Description
This role is responsible for leading the Project Management of autonomous vehicle-related projects at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) — including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. The core objective is to ensure projects (e.g., autonomous vehicle solution deployment, system upgrades, operational optimization) are delivered on time and in line with UISEE’s quality standards, while strictly complying with regulations from the Airport Authority Hong Kong. Additionally, this role will coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to align project goals with business needs and solidify UISEE’s reputation as a reliable autonomous vehicle project deliverer.
Responsibilities
· Lead project initiation: Conduct requirements gathering with HKIA, internal technical teams, and external partners (e.g., Skywell, King Long, Dongfeng, DAS, BIG) to define clear project objectives, scope, and success metrics.
· Develop detailed project plans: Outline timelines, resource allocation (manpower, equipment, materials), and budget frameworks; identify potential risks and establish mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns.
· Oversee project execution: Coordinate cross-functional teams (technical R&D, operations, maintenance) and external vendors to ensure seamless collaboration; track daily project progress and resolve bottlenecks (e.g., supply chain issues, technical discrepancies) in a timely manner.
· Manage project quality & compliance: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure autonomous vehicle systems and project outputs meet HKIA’s safety standards, UISEE’s technical requirements, and contractual obligations with partners.
· Control project budget: Monitor budget usage, track cost variations, and implement cost-control measures to ensure projects stay within financial constraints; provide regular budget reports to stakeholders.
· Foster stakeholder communication: Establish efficient communication mechanisms with HKIA, internal leadership, and external partners; deliver regular project updates (e.g., progress reports, risk alerts) and align expectations on milestones.
· Lead project closure: Organize project acceptance with HKIA and partners; conduct post-project reviews to summarize lessons learned, document best practices, and optimize future project processes.
· Mentor project team members: Guide and develop the project team’s capabilities in project management, cross-team collaboration, and problem-solving; foster a culture of efficiency and accountability.
Requirements
· Hold a bachelor’s degree or above in Project Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. A PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly preferred.
· Having at least 5 years of professional experience in project management, with a minimum of 3 years leading projects in the autonomous vehicle, smart transportation, airport or aviation ground equipment industry; experience with HKIA or airport-related projects is a significant advantage.
· Proficiency in written and spoken Cantonese, Mandarin, and English — to facilitate communication with diverse stakeholders (HKIA, local partners, cross-border teams).
· Familiar with airport regulations (e.g., HKIA’s operational standards, airside safety requirements) and experience collaborating with OEMs, equipment suppliers (e.g., Skywell, King Long), and maintenance service providers to ensure contractual compliance.
· Strong expertise in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall); proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
· Excellent risk management skills: Ability to identify potential project risks (technical, operational, regulatory) and develop actionable mitigation plans to minimize impact.
· Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills: Ability to communicate complex technical and project-related concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and resolve conflicts between cross-functional teams or external partners.
· Demonstrated leadership: Experience leading and motivating project teams; track record of driving team accountability and delivering projects successfully under tight deadlines.
· Candidates with less experience will be considered for the role of Assistant Project Manager
