Faculty of Science
The Faculty of Science has over 3,600 students guided by more than 400 teaching and research staff, and has six major teaching units offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Reporting to the Faculty Secretary, the appointee will be responsible for supporting the Faculty Office and the Centre for Promoting Science Education (CPSE) of the Faculty. CPSE aims at promoting science education to the public, and enriching scientific knowledge of different target groups by organising various science activities and courses. Duties include (a) supporting activities and events organised by CPSE and the Faculty; (b) handling course admission matters; (c) maintaining the Faculty’s website; (d) assisting in the creation of promotion materials and engaging digital content, including graphics, announcements, and event promotions; (e) supporting venue booking and facilities management for the Faculty; and (f) performing other duties as assigned. Working outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required occasionally.
Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) fast and accurate Chinese and English word-processing skill; (iv) hands-on experience in webpage updating, social media maintenance; (v) proficiency in computer applications (such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint); (vi) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (vii) good interpersonal skills; (viii) a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; and (ix) the ability to work independently. Having relevant prior experience will be advantageous. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract) commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
