STUDENT AFFAIRS OFFICE

Assistant Officer (Ref. 240305002-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) manage the Water Polo Team (WPT) and its sports fund, and provide administrative support to the team, including secretarial support to team meetings;

(b) arrange and provide support to WPT’s activities, e.g. competition and off-shore training, including publicity and report preparing;

(c) organise local and international invitational water-polo tournaments;

(d) liaise with internal and external bodies for the matters of WPT, including bookings of training venues;

(e) handle the administrative work of men’s and women’s swimming teams;

(f) provide support to the sports development team in various aspects, including sports administration, sports scholarship schemes as well as sports events and promotion; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work during non-office hours if necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in Administration, IT Management, Sports or a related discipline;

(b) at least three years of relevant experience;

(c) a certificate of Water Polo Coaching;

(d) specific sports knowledge, such as health and fitness / strength and conditioning / sports psychology and sports injury, etc.;

(e) the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English, with proficiency in Chinese being an advantage;

(f) sound knowledge of computer applications; and

(g) good communication and interpersonal skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
