Finance Manager (Music Industry)

Job Description

Pacific Music Group (PMG) is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the company’s financial operations and support strategic deal-making. Reporting to the CEO, this role is ideal for someone with strong accounting fundamentals, excellent analytical skills, and an interest in the music and entertainment business.

Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Accounting

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities.
• Oversee AP/AR, payroll support, vendor payments, and staff expense reimbursements.
• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Handle P&L management and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare financial analyses and reports as requested by management.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and corporate secretaries.
• Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and company policies.

Deal Support & Business Partnership

• Work closely with executives to model, structure, and evaluate business deals.
• Assist in negotiating commercial terms with external partners (brands, agencies, labels, promoters, etc.).
• Provide financial insights to support decision-making and long-term planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience, or fewer years provided the candidate has worked at a major accounting firm (Big Four or equivalent).

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field;
• Good command of written and spoken English;
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles.
• Experience preparing P&L statements, budgets, and financial reports.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. SAP) and Excel/Google Sheets.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and time management skills.
• Able to work independently - with strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in music and entertainment is a strong advantage.
• Experience in entertainment, media, or startup environments is a plus.
