Responsibilities:

1.       Be proactive in ensuring the security systems are operating optimally.

2.       Undertake planned and reactive services to the ’s security systems. The schedule will be agreed at the beginning of each year.

3.       Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) across the Estate covering all assets and systems assigned to them.

4.       PPMs are to be completed to an agreed schedule and following completion of each round of PPM the SE will produce within 7 days a detailed report with proposed remedial works.

5.       Following the completion of each PPM, the SE will raise all relevant change requests to facilitate remedial actions.

6.       The SE will complete firmware and software upgrades to security endpoints and devices, and ensure

they are kept up to date with the manufacturer’s specifications.

7.       Support with the investigation of security system and asset failures or performance issues identifying causal and root causal factors.

8.       Carry out detailed fault analysis, investigations, and produce detailed post-incident reports on system and asset failures, identifying causal and root causal factors, and provide remediation measures for resolution.

9.       Ensure that firmware and software upgrades are applied to all security assets, and work alongside the technical teams in delivering system upgrades.

10.    Ensure that all security assets are registered on the approved register. Produce a monthly validation report and implement corrections. Escalate any known issues to management.

11.    Support IT patching process. Carry out a risk assessment on any impact from the application of security and operational patches with a focus of reducing system downtime during the patching window (weekend work – Chargeable Extra).

12.    Complete asset lifecycle reviews for all security assets and provide recommendations for upgrading to a new version.

13.    Complete a monthly reactive works report identifying areas of non-compliance.

14.    Complete a monthly planned preventative maintenance report identifying corrective actions raised and completed, and any areas of non-compliance.

15.    Undertake reactive services in line with the response times outlined in the SLA covering the sites specified.

16.    Maintain a list of pre-defined critical spares and produce a monthly report on compliance.

17.    Ensure that all security assets are accurately represented, correctly labelled, and maintained.

18.    Ensure that all relevant risk, method statements and supporting documentation for planned and reactive work are completed and checked to ensure they are fit for purpose.

19.    Ensure all relevant documentation including, technical and system design, architectural diagrams, installation procedures and user and technical training manuals are maintained and kept updated. This will be verified by an annual review.

20.    Assist in developing smart PPM plans for risk areas. The focus should be on data analysis and continual improvement.

21.    Act as a conduit for the transition of security related projects into BAU, in line with industry best practices and security standards. This includes but is not limited to, making sure O&M manuals have been received and stored securely. Product lifecycle information is accurately understood and registered. All relevant support contracts are in place with agreed SLAs and KPIs, start/end dates, list of stakeholder contacts, and clearly defined response times. All asset information is transferred to BAU PPM logs.

22.    Oversee system programming and commissioning.

23.    Assist in providing annual forecast and budgeting information based on accurate asset and lifecycle logs, for all security assets in use.

24.    Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical security and provide analysis, roadmaps, and guidance with a focus on integration, innovation, and continual improvement.

25.    Arrange and/or conduct product demonstrations, technical training, and participate in workshops to ensure optimal system usage.

26.    Ensure the correct disposal of any waste created whilst working on the estate, in line with waste regulations and environmental permitting.

27.    Duties may also include escort and assisting specialist sub-contractors performing planned/reactive maintenance and all other maintenance and engineering work functions as required.

28.    Triage faults prior to engineer attendance.


Qualification/ Requirement:

1.       A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Senior Technical Engineer or Systems Engineer role in the corporate environment.

2.       A minimum of 2 years’ experience on CCure 9000 with experience in supporting all aspects of M&E

building maintenance / electrical infrastructure services.

3.       Extensive knowledge of Exacq Video Surveillance Systems, CCTV, intruder systems and other security systems.

4.       Working knowledge of networking and server technology.

5.       Experience in working to and within electrical AP standard working processes and procedures.

6.       CCure Level 2 qualified (current)

7.       Exacq System qualified

3.       City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 equivalent. [Requirement]

4.       Recognised Electrical CP/AP qualification. [Advantage]

5.       Recognised Networking qualification [Advantage]

6.       IOSH Managing Safely. [Requirement]

7.       Good report writing skills and presentation demonstrating a structured approach to problem solving and written communication.

8.       Strong IT skills (Microsoft application suite – particularly Excel)es are a plus.
