About Us

AlgoGroup is a venture-backed pet care startup and HK Science Park incubatee that uses e-commerce data and distribution muscle to scale innovative pet brands across Hong Kong, the UK, Singapore and Malaysia.

In Hong Kong, we own and operate an established veterinary clinic and pet e-commerce platform. We provide high-quality veterinary care and accessible pet products, and we’re gradually expanding our animal welfare efforts through partnerships with charities, shelters and the wider pet community.

AlgoGroup also runs Pounce, a program where we partner with promising emerging pet brands from around the world and help them grow through our online, offline and distribution channels.

Role Overview


As Sales Associate – Community & Partnerships, you will help grow our Hong Kong business on two fronts: local partnerships (charities, shelters, independent rescuers, influencers and pet businesses) and international partnerships via Pounce, where you help onboard emerging pet brands into our clinic and e-commerce ecosystem once they have been identified and engaged by our outreach team.

This is a field-focused role: you’ll spend a large part of your time out meeting people – at our clinic, at partner locations and around the community – with some remote work for planning, follow-up and reporting. You should enjoy being on the move, talking to people and turning conversations into concrete next steps.

Success in this role means consistently bringing in high-quality partners and brands, helping them gain traction, and showing clear, measurable impact: new and repeat customers, growing partner-driven revenue, strong early results for Pounce brands in Hong Kong, and simple, clear reporting on what’s working (and what’s not).

Key Responsibilities

1. Local Partnerships & Campaigns

  • Identify, approach and manage small charities, shelters and independent rescuers, explaining our welfare-support initiative and running a simple sign-up and onboarding process.
  • Build and manage collaborations with pet influencers/KOLs, content creators and complementary pet businesses (e.g. pet cafés, groomers, boarding/kennel services, trainers, adoption groups, pet insurance, photographers, daycare/walkers).
  • Co-develop and coordinate simple local campaigns and activations (e.g. promotions, giveaways, adoption days, pop-ups or webinars) with partners, working with our regional e-commerce/marketing team and external agencies where helpful.

2. International Partnerships – Pounce Program

  • Work with our outreach team in Asia to handle inbound interest from emerging pet brands identified for the Pounce Program.
  • Coordinate onboarding and integration of new Pounce brands into our clinic and e-commerce platform, including information collection, product setup and basic support for clinic and customer-facing teams.
  • Help ensure new brands gain early traction in Hong Kong through in-clinic visibility and simple launch activities, working closely with founders and the regional marketing team.

3. Reporting

  • Track partner and brand status, activities and basic performance using simple tools (e.g. spreadsheets or a CRM).
  • Capture key results from partnerships and campaigns, including high-level partner- or brand-driven revenue where possible.
  • Provide clear monthly summaries on partners, brands, activities and key wins or learnings for the wider team.

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years’ hands-on experience in sales, partnerships or business development roles, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets and contributing to measurable revenue or partnership growth (please include specific examples).

  • Experience in the pet industry or related roles (e.g. vet clinic, pet retail/services, animal welfare/NGO, or pet-focused marketing/BD/community) is strongly preferred.

  • Confident meeting people face-to-face; comfortable with outreach, pitching, basic negotiation and follow-through.
  • Experience with influencers/KOLs, media or online communities is a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable using basic tools (spreadsheets, simple CRM/tracking, social platforms, messaging apps) and producing simple performance reports.
  • Genuine pet lover who can build trust with welfare groups, pet parents, partners and brand founders.

  • Self-motivated, organised and proactive; able to manage your own pipeline and priorities while checking in regularly with the founders and wider team.
  • Comfortable in a field-based role, spending significant time out meeting partners and prospects.

  • Fluent in Cantonese and English; Mandarin an advantage.
