Drive the creation of a commercially relevant assortment for American Eagle and Aerie brand, tailored to meet dynamic competitive and commercial demands.
Develop strategies and execute both in-season and future assortment strategies, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to identify and act on markets opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with Senior Buying Manager & Cross-Functional Teams to build holistic product strategy for Omni channels
-
Ensure product strategies are in line with overall business strategy and topline financial goals
-
Tailor assortments based on individual sales channel capabilities, customer profiles, and seasonal big ideas

Ensure product assortment is commercially viable and aligned with Brands’ seasonal vision:

Direct and drive seasonal buy discussions during international market week, leveraging business and regional expertise

Collaborate effectively and constructively challenge brand principals during monthly business reviews and market week
-
Identify assortment and pricing gaps through competitive analysis and internal resources
-

Own the seasonal product roadmap in collaboration with Senior Buying Manger & Cross Functional Teams -

Partner with brand principals to understand seasonal design direction, hero products, and trends
-
Introducing trend-forward ideas that enable AEO to lead and compete in the markets
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to brief programs for key commercial moments in each market
-
Integrate climate and cultural nuances into the overall strategy by markets

Manage and oversee the business by –
-
Leading weekly business analysis with sharp analysis on product performance
-
Adjusting product launch schedules in response to emerging trends to maximize sales and margin opportunities
-
Developing and directing product storytelling across retail and digital touchpoints in collaboration with Marketing and Visual Merchandising team
-
Delivering seasonal product training and a comprehensive product master list to empower store teams and enhance sales
-
Driving stock turn improvements and proposing strategic plans to optimize inventory performance and increase in-season sell-thru

Maintain a global perspective on AE’s market presence through regular store and market visits, with a deep understanding of local competition and pricing architecture

REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or equivalent required
-
5–7 years of prior buying experience in a specialty retail environment; experience in buying apparel is an advantage
-
Experience in buying across a mix of company-owned, licensed, and wholesale models is preferred
-
Excellent analytical skills; able to challenge and collaborate effectively with brand principals and cross-functional teams
-
Forward-thinking and innovative; consistently challenges the status quo and brings bold, future-facing ideas
-
Persuasive communicator with the ability to influence peers and senior leaders; skilled in using interpersonal styles to gain buy-in for ideas and strategies
-
Strategic thinker: capable of assessing business risks and opportunities, and building creative plans to drive results and maximize impact

High proficiency in MS Office 365

Adaptable and efficient in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings
-
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting accuracy
-
Willingness to travel, including international travel once per quarter

Positive and passionate individuals will be most successful in this and future role
