Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and organized Warehouse Supervisor to report to the Warehouse Manager, who will manage and coordinate the daily operational activities of our Hong Kong warehouse. The ideal candidate will lead the warehouse team to ensure all receiving, storage, picking, and shipping operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and on time, in compliance with the service standards required by our fashion and general cargo clients.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Daily Operational Coordination: Organize the daily workflow, prioritizing the start of receiving activities before coordinating and supervising subsequent picking and packing activities to ensure deadlines are met.
Resource Management: Monitor the workload and promptly report the need for temporary staff to the Warehouse Manager to handle peaks in activity or absences.
Space Optimization: Monitor goods allocation and propose solutions to the Warehouse Manager to improve the utilization and efficiency of warehouse space.
Team Supervision: Lead, motivate, and monitor the team of warehouse operators, ensuring productivity and quality objectives are achieved.
WMS Utilization: Ensure the team correctly uses the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and radio-frequency (RF) scanners for all transactions (inbound, outbound, transfers, inventory).
Problem Solving: Act as the first point of contact for resolving daily operational issues (e.g., inventory discrepancies, picking errors, delays) and escalate complex anomalies to the Warehouse Manager.
Quality and Accuracy: Conduct spot checks to ensure inventory accuracy, order preparation quality, and correct labelling of outbound goods.
Safety and Orderliness: Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards within the warehouse, promoting a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Training: Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager on "on-the-job" training for new hires and continuous training for staff on operating procedures.
Reporting: Provide the Warehouse Manager with regular updates on activities and key operational performance indicators (KPIs).
Skills and Experience Required:
Education: DSE or above
Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a logistics warehouse, including at least 1-2 years in a coordination role such as Team Leader or Shift Leader.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations (receiving, storage, picking, shipping).
- Hands-on experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF scanners.
- Familiarity with logistics for the Fashion and/or General Cargo sectors is a plus.
- Having a forklift license (both reach and counterbalance types) is mandatory. [ Backup in a daily operation or based on peak season WHS workload]
Leadership Skills:
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to work under pressure.
Language Skills:
Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is required to coordinate the local team effectively.
Knowledge of English for reporting and communication with management is preferred.
