Senior IT Engineer

Job Purpose

The Senior IT Engineer is responsible for the support, management, administration and implementation of IT services and solutions, including IT infrastructure, and applications, in China-Hong Kong and China.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in an IT technical support or specialist role.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT team lead or similar lead role.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT.
• English speaking.
• Hands on, organized and service oriented.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Must have hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Administration activities.
• Preferably experience in the Corporate Services industry.

Job Responsibilities

Day to day responsibilities include:

• Manage and oversee the HK IT team.
• Monitoring and fulfillment of day-to-day support and service requests.
• Troubleshooting and resolving incidents and problems.
• Maintaining and keeping up to date the inventory of all IT assets.
• Periodic patching and updating of applications and IT infrastructure.
• Drive and implement group policies and standards.
• Gather and analyse business requirements related to IT services.
• Identify and propose improvements to IT solutions, infrastructure and processes.
• IT project planning.
• Monitoring and maintaining health of IT infrastructure, applications and backups.
• Develop, keep up to date and test Disaster Recovery Plans.
• Provide periodic management data and updates on the state of IT.

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office 365, Azure AD
• IT infrastructure (Network, Servers including VMWare) management and support
• Microsoft Security Products, including EMS, Intune, Defender for Office 365
• Strong Cybersecurity principles awareness, familiar with ISO 27001
• Application migration and integration projects
• DRP & BCP
• Supplier, service provider and SLA management
• IT Service Desk Tools
• Endpoint Security Management
• Endpoints Detection and Response (EDR)
• Firewalls management (industry leading brands)

Certifications

• Microsoft 365 Certified
• ITIL 4 Foundation
• Information or Cybersecurity fundamentals, for example from ISACA, SANS, EC-Council, or ISA
• ISO 27001 related certifications
