Global Yacht Services Limited is seeking an experienced Purchasing Assistant to join our team. In this full-time role based in Aberdeen Southern District, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement and inventory management processes. What you'll be doing

• Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing, manage orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
• Maintain comprehensive records of all purchasing activities, including budgets, invoices and inventory levels
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address procurement needs
• Assist in the implementation and optimisation of procurement policies and procedures
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to purchases
• Prepare regular reports detailing purchasing metrics and performance

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Proficient in using procurement software and MS Office applications
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
