Principal Systems Analyst

Responsibilities:

• Analyze user requests for enhancements in CSC Polisy/Asia insurance system and implement appropriate program changes to fulfill the requests
• Troubleshoot production issues and debug programs to identify root causes
• Develop and customize Polisy/Asia application programs, and other applications connecting to Polisy/Asia as well if necessary, according to business requirements, information security and compliance standard
• Handle new projects by understanding business requirements, analyzing program sources and reviewing data structure to develop appropriate solutions
• Understand company’s business needs and objectives, and propose appropriate cost-effective system solutions to users, teammates and management

Requirements:

• Tertiary education such as bachelor’s degree, diploma, or similar qualification in Computer Science related discipline
• 12 years or above experience in developing and supporting general or life insurance core applications in AS400 system environment, preferably with 5 years in a team leading role
• Strong knowledge and skills in COBOL programming under CSC SMART/400 environment
• Solid hands-on experience on program development, production deployment and problem troubleshooting in CSC Polisy/Asia insurance system
• Solid experience on AS400 based application development and user support in a general insurance company’s environment
• Strong understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model
• Strong knowledge of general insurance business operations and user requirements
• Solid knowledge and experience on information and application security
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and debugging skills
• Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Be proactive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
• Being an open-minded, dependable, and self-motivated team player
