Lead Consultant (Airport System)

Position Overview: 

The successful candidate will oversee and support the mission-critical Airport Flight Information Display System (FIDS) and associated infrastructure within the airport environment. This role involves designing and implementing new system architecture to support the upcoming Terminal 2 Expansion and Third Runway Concourse. Additionally, the candidate may provide support for other multimedia and emerging technology systems across various high-scale projects.

Qualifications & Experience: 

Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields

Minimum of 8 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in requirements analysis, project planning, system deployment, and support throughout the project lifecycle

Extensive hands-on experience in Linux/Windows administration, web technologies, database management, and server resilience to ensure smooth system operation

Proven project management and team leadership skills

Additional expertise in application programming, shell scripting, messaging systems, and networking is preferred

Proactive, responsible, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working efficiently under pressure

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese

Availability for outside office hours support for emergencies or scheduled maintenance

Key Responsibilities: 

Maintain and support system software, middleware, bespoke applications, and network infrastructure

Coordinate with software vendors to improve and enhance FIDS functionality, including conducting System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure new features meet operational requirements

Collaborate with end-users to convert operational and business needs into clear technical specifications

Provide prompt system incident support and conduct root cause analysis for problem resolution

Participate in regular project meetings to review incidents, change requests, system enhancements, and suggest improvements

Contribute to the development of IT systems aligned with the airport’s expansion plans for the third runway

Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and configuration issues on end devices
