IT Manager / IT Specialist (Data Centre) (Ref: ADC/TM)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Data Centre Manager to oversee the daily operations of our data centre. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of all servers, maintaining data security and backup operations, managing Windows batch jobs, and guaranteeing the overall operational health and efficiency of the data centre infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the data centre, including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment
• Ensure all servers (Windows and/or Linux), storage systems, and networking equipment function optimally
• Implement and monitor data backup and disaster recovery strategies in accordance with government policies
• Oversee the scheduling, execution, and troubleshooting of Windows batch jobs and other automated operations
• Enforce strict physical and cybersecurity controls to safeguard sensitive government data
• Monitor capacity, plan for future resource needs, and coordinate hardware/software upgrades
• Ensure compliance with government IT governance, audit, and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with application, security, and networking teams to support public sector services and digital transformation initiatives
• Maintain documentation including procedures, incident logs, risk assessments, and recovery plans

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical staff, promoting operational excellence and continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing data centre operations or IT infrastructure
• Strong hands-on experience with server administration (Windows/Linux), virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware), backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, CommVault), and batch job management
• Good understanding of IT security, network architecture, and firewalls
• Experience in incident handling and disaster recovery planning
• Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills
• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
• Experience leading technical teams or managing staff is preferred
• Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Data Centre Manager

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as Microsoft (MCSE), VMware (VCP), Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), or other relevant credentials
• Experience with data centre build-outs, migrations, or cloud integration projects
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 or other information security frameworks
