Financial Control Manager

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Financial Accounting and Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system.
  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and prepare necessary documentation.

• Group Financial Consolidation

  • Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial statements from all country subsidiaries into the group’s financial reports.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of each country’s balance sheet to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and internal policies.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of intercompany accounts and ensure that all discrepancies are promptly addressed.

• Working Capital Management

  • Oversee the cash flow management processes to ensure sufficient liquidity for country operations.  This includes forecasting cash requirements and optimizing cash balances.
  • Ensure effective accounts receivables processes are in place to reduce days sales outstanding (DSO) and minimize bad debts.  Review and analyse aging reports monthly.
  • Oversees accounts payable processes to optimize payment terms and manage days payable outstanding (DPO) effectively.
  • Monitor unbilled WIP and Job Cost accruals process and ensure job financials are updated timely and accurately.

• Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Conduct regular reviews of internal controls to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.

• Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor the financial accounting team, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs for team members.

• Statutory Forecast and Reporting:

  • Support Finance Director and CFO in the preparation of annual statutory budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Support Head of Group Financial Reporting in the preparation of financial reports for bank and investors,

• Process Improvement:

  • Continuously review and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices in financial accounting and control.
  • Leverage technology to automate and streamline financial processes.

 Qualification

• Qualified Accountant with minimum of 10 years of relevant analytical experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
• Experience in Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close / Hyperion Financial Management an added advantage.
• Familiar with Cargowise system has an advantage.
• Excellent excel skills and strong quantitative abilities.
• Good power point skills.
• Able to solve complex problems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships.
• Strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
