Business IT Specialist - Trading Support and Infrastructure Management

Responsibilities:

Trading Support:

• Provide technical support to traders and portfolio managers during trading hours.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to trading platforms and systems promptly.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to implement trading system upgrades and enhancements.

System Administration:

• Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and software.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of systems and network infrastructure.
• Perform regular backups and implement disaster recovery procedures.

Vendor Management:

• Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of services.

Budgeting Control:

• Assist in the development and management of the IT budget.
• Monitor and control IT expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource allocation.

User Support Team Oversight:

• Lead and mentor the user support team, providing guidance and technical expertise.
• Ensure timely resolution of user issues and requests, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Server Room Infrastructure Oversight:

• Oversee the maintenance and organization of the server room environment.
• Monitor environmental conditions and implement measures to ensure optimal performance and reliability of server hardware.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Proven experience in trading support, system administration, and vendor management.

Strong understanding of financial trading systems and platforms.

Experience with server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization technologies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, MCSE, or CCNA are a plus.

Reporting Structure:

The IT Specialist will collaborate closely with the Manager-In-Charge (MIC) for IT functions.
