Senior Engineer - Electronics (EV)

Major Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for 22kW AC and DC EV chargers, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Conduct in-depth electrical calculations, power analysis, and thermal management for all EV charger components.
• Select and source high-quality electrical components (power electronics, transformers, etc.) based on stringent technical specifications and industry standards (e.g., IEC 61851).
• Design and implement robust control systems for safe and efficient operation of both AC and DC chargers.
• Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the charging stations.
• Oversee the testing and troubleshooting of EV charger prototypes, identifying and resolving technical issues.
• Stay current on the latest advancements in EV charging technology and relevant industry standards, including IEC 61851 for both AC and DC charging.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, and detailed test reports.
• Contribute to the development of new product proposals and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
   

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in power electronics design.
• In-depth understanding of electrical power systems, power conversion principles, control theory, and thermal management for high-power applications.
• Demonstrated experience with designing for safety compliance in accordance with IEC 61851 for both AC and DC charging systems.
• Proficiency in electrical design tools (e.g., Mentor, simulation tools) and power electronics design software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on achieving optimal efficiency and performance.
• Superior communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively lead and mentor team members.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
