Key Responsibilities

• Product Reliability Testing

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans to simulate real-world use and accelerated life cycles of toys.
  • Conduct mechanical, electrical, and environmental stress testing to evaluate durability.
  • Document and communicate findings with actionable recommendations.

• Failure Analysis & Risk Assessment

  • Perform root cause analysis on product failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and participate in FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) to identify risks early in design.
  • Track and analyse product reliability metrics such as defect rates

• Safety & Compliance

  • Partner with QA to validate that breakage or wear does not introduce new safety hazards (e.g., small parts, sharp edges).
  • Support regulatory testing and certification processes.

• Supplier & Manufacturing Quality

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material and component consistency.
  • Support audits of production processes to confirm adherence to reliability standards.
  • Work with manufacturing teams to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.

• Continuous Improvement

  • Use reliability data from testing, consumer feedback, and returns to drive design improvements.
  • Champion a culture of safety, reliability, and innovation across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in reliability engineering, quality assurance, or product testing (toy, consumer products, or related industries preferred).
• Strong knowledge of reliability testing methods, FMEA, root cause analysis, and statistical tools (SPC, DOE, etc.).
• Familiarity with toy safety standards and regulations (ASTM, EN71, CPSIA).
• Hands-on experience with mechanical testing equipment and/or electronic diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical teams.
