Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Hong Kong team. The ideal candidate will lead the electrical design team and efforts for our regional data center projects, ensuring that all systems are efficient, reliable, and meet industry standards. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, managing project timelines, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the design of electrical systems for data centers and other critical facilities while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

· Preparation of Electrical system design calculations, estimation, and schemes.

· Design of Lighting, Power, cable tray, Earthing, and Equipment layouts.

· Review technical drawings, schematics, and construction documentation.

· Liaise with design teams across the APAC region to ensure alignment on project objectives, best practices, and design standards.

· Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and ensuring that project deliverables meet their expectations.

· Facilitate coordination between various disciplines (MEP, Architecture, structural, civil) to ensure integrated design solutions.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required Skills

· Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP)

· Strong leadership and communication skills

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

· Fluency in English

· Extensive 9 - 15 years of experience in Electrical design consultancy, including in Data Centres projects

· Have experience working with international clients and international projects.

· Proven experience in managing a team and mentoring junior staff, either within the same office or across different countries.
