Job Description
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) facilitate student learning and development, and develop corresponding curriculum and pedagogy;
(b) lead and coordinate student learning modules and subjects, and promote teaching quality among colleagues;
(c) lead and organise research support and knowledge transfer activities;
(d) organise and implement strategic actions, regulations and procedures for the assigned technical team;
(e) oversee and manage essential operations of the assigned technical team;
(f) facilitate effective resources deployment and performance evaluation within the assigned technical team;
(g) work closely with stakeholders in the University, industrial partners and clients; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Centre or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree or a higher degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline;
(b) at least five years of solid experience in system integration or engineering management, preferably in the application of Industrial Control Systems, Robotics Automation, Mechatronics or Smart Manufacturing; and
(c) a good command of written and spoken English.
Applicants with hands-on experience in any one of the following areas will be an advantage:
- Automation system design, robotics, machinery, or computer vision;
- Consumable or medical electronic circuit design or system integration;
- Computer programming, with proficiency in C/C++, Python, Java or MATLAB preferred; or
- Android or IOS app development.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
