Research Assistant

The appointee will assist with various research activities, including data scraping, collection, cleaning, and analysis using Python and Stata. Additionally, the role involves conducting textual analysis of regulatory and financial documents, such as extracting structured data from PDFs and unstructured text, and supporting literature reviews and other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or above and possess strong programming skills, especially in Python (text mining, PDF parsing, and web scraping). Familiarity with Stata for empirical analysis is also required. Attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and good communication skills are essential for this role. While a background in economics is a plus, candidates with technical backgrounds, such as data science, and an interest in gaining exposure to economics are also welcome. Candidates with prior research experience or an interest in academic research are preferred.  (Duration: 1 year, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave and medical benefits will be provided where applicable.
