Merchandising Manager Non-Food

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Merchandising Manager to join our Non-Food team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing merchandising strategies, negotiating competitive prices and sourcing the best suppliers on the Asian market for our partners worldwide. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for the non-food industry and a keen eye for market trends.       
 

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute merchandising and sourcing strategies to achieve profitability goals
• Analyze market trends and forecasts
• Being the category expertise or sourcing specialist in both buyer and supplier management to actively increase the sourcing competence
• In the strategic partner role with buyers, manage and supervise work in progress, evaluate feasibility of projects and get project information from buyers
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of products
• Providing insights and recommendations for improvement and identifying opportunities and developing future growing plan in sourcing
• Handling sourcing process from end to end e.g. product development (special requirement needed for customized pick, new products, or OEM projects), preselection, assortments, price negotiation, order placement and timely delivery etc
• Develop strong relationships with partners, buyers, and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and secure high-quality products
• Identify and source new products that align with market demands and company standards
• Conduct supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with quality and ethical standards (Incl. Evaluating and to developing new sources in Asia)
• Lead and mentor a team of merchandising professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
• Closely liaise with Head of Department to assure comprehensive information and new projects is shared
• Liaise with all relevant stakeholders for quality assurance, risk management & quality control
• Perform duties professionally and ethnically by complying EAH’ Code of Conduct and follow EAH’s relevant company’s policies and social standards

   
Job requirements:

• Min. 6 years of experience in Non-Food Merchandising, procurement, or supply chain with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and market trends
• Regional sourcing experience in China, South & East Asia
• Experience in working in a cross-cultural team and able to work across multicultural environment
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Ability to handle pressure and willing for routine work
• Self-motivated and independent, deliver work on time and able to meet tight deadlines
• Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and merchandising software
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with partners, buyers, and suppliers
• Knowledge of quality assurance and compliance standards for non-food products to Europe is an advantage
• Strong coaching and leadership skills
• Attentive to work ethics
• Languages: Proficiency in English, knowledge of German is an advantage to communicate with buyers from Europe or Chinese competency to manage sourcing in Chinese speaking countries (China/ Taiwan/Hong Kong)
• High willingness travel to suppliers’ locations & factories as well
• Hardworking, good time management and organizational skills
