The Roles:

  1. Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Development to oversee daily operations and events at the DX design hub, including exhibitions, workshops, community activities, and the Lounge, ensure the hub remains clean, functional, and ready for visitors;
  2. Handle on-site troubleshooting for technical, operational, or visitor issues during events;
  3. Ensure effective vendor management by monitoring and coordinating with suppliers, including cleaning and security services.  Oversee the proper maintenance of audiovisual (AV) and technical equipment for exhibitions and events to facilitate seamless operations;
  4. Implement and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for venue management, security, and event logistics, and manage space allocation and layout adjustments for exhibitions, pop-ups, and community activities;
  5. Perform regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with local regulations and accessibility standards;
  6. Collaborate with curators, designers, and event organizers to ensure efficient event execution & logistics, and high-quality visitor experience.  Ensure that all community engagement initiatives are implemented effectively and provide an excellent visitor journey;
  7. Work as the “Manager on Duty” for DX design hub, including weekends and public holidays;
  8. Develop and manage operational budgets, event expenses, and cost control measures;
  9. Conduct regular training sessions on event management, visitor services, and safety procedures.  Foster a collaborative and dynamic team environment to ensure the delivery of high-quality events and exhibitions;
  10. Perform ad hoc assignments as required.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Business Administration, Arts & Cultural Management, Hospitality, Facilities Management, or a related field;
  2. A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in event operations, exhibitions, public space management, or cultural programming, workshops, and community events in museums, cultural hubs, or design spaces;
  3. Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese (including Putonghua) are essential;
  4. Strong understanding of event logistics, space planning, visitor flow optimization, organisational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities;
  5. Experience with budget management, procurement, contract negotiations and knowledge of AV systems, interactive technology;
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
  7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
  8. Requires flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, depending on event schedules;
  9. Hand-on role requiring on-site presence during exhibitions and events.
