The mission of the Center for the Development of the Gifted and Talented (CDGT) is to help highly able learners explore their interests and understand their talents through diversified learning opportunities from one-day workshops to long-term comprehensive programs, as well as other social-emotional and psychoeducation activities. We aim to create a supportive community for gifted and talented learners for the benefit of their intellectual and whole-person development. Our service targets range from upper primary school to senior secondary school students, as well as undergraduate students.
The appointee is expected to
- manage program operation of the STEM workshop and internship program, and coordinate with teammates and student interns to devise work plans, and provide pre-event and onsite logistic support;
- coach undergraduate students and equip them with necessary teaching and classroom management skills, and or identify relevant resources for the purpose, etc.
- lead an undergraduate student team on teaching material enhancement and development for face-to-face and online workshops;
- liaise with primary schools or potential partners on collaboration projects, e.g. adaptation of Kids@UST workshop materials in school settings;
- identify program development opportunities and devise work plans for enhanced program outcome and coverage;
- any other duties assigned by the Director and his delegates. Working outside normal office hours/on Saturdays is required on a need basis.
Applicants should have a recognized bachelor's degree, preferably in science, mathematics, engineering, or education, with 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in teaching, STEM education, coaching of youngsters, and/or program coordination or services in tertiary institutions. The candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills, have a strong sense of responsibility and be able to multitask under pressure. He/she should be proficient in English and Chinese and competent in using MS Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint). The ideal candidate should be independent, self-motivated, attentive to details, a problem-solver. He/she should also have good interpersonal skills and enjoy working with a team. Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Education Development Officer. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
