HKUST is launching the MSc in Entrepreneurial Leadership in Biotechnology (ELBT), the first program of its kind in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. The program equips students — from fresh graduates with startup ambitions to mid-career professionals — with the skills and networks to turn scientific discoveries into impactful ventures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee program operations, curriculum delivery, and student experience.
• Contribute to course design and teaching in biotech entrepreneurship, leadership, and commercialization.
• Mentor students on startup building, fundraising, and career pathways.
• Strengthen collaborations with industry, investors, and institutions.
• Support long-term strategy and branding to position ELBT as a world-class program.

Requirements:

• PhD or equivalent in science, engineering, biotechnology, or business.
• Excellent experience in teaching, with recognition for outstanding pedagogy an advantage.
• Familiarity with innovation journeys, from research to startup creation.
• Strong networks in biotech, investment, or entrepreneurship, especially in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

• Excellent communication skills in English; Cantonese or Mandarin desirable. 

Appointment & Benefits:
The appointment will be concurrent with a teaching track faculty appointment with the academic department(s). The initial term of service will be 2 years, renewable upon mutual agreement. Competitive salary, gratuity, and medical coverage will be provided.
