Job Description

The Assistant Network Project Manager supports the planning, coordination and execution of network infrastructure projects. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of network solutions that meet business requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution: Assist in the development comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets and resource allocation; ensure successful execution to meet project objectives.

  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for enterprise customers, managing expectations, providing regular status updates and resolving issues promptly.

  • Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including network engineers, architects and third-party vendors, to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment.

  • Risk Management: Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges to minimize impact on project delivery.

  • Scope and Change Control: Define and manage project scope, handling change requests while maintaining alignment with customer requirements and business goals.

  • Resource Management: Help identify and allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and tools to achieve project milestones.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all network infrastructure deployments meet industry standards, customer specifications and performance benchmarks.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including status reports, budgets and post-project evaluations, to support transparency and continuous improvement.

  • Technology Alignment: Collaborate with technical teams to ensure projects align with emerging networking trends, such as cloud-native networking and zero-trust architectures.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Technology or a related field. PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification required.

Experience

  • 3+ years of project management experience with managing network infrastructure project.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex networking projects (e.g., LAN/WAN deployments, SD-WAN, network security implementations).

  • Experience working with enterprise clients in industries such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing or retail.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS) and architectures (e.g. LAN, WAN, data center networking).

  • Familiarity with Cloud networking, network security frameworks and modern networking paradigms (e.g. zero-trust, SASE).

  • Ability to engage in high-level technical discussions and translate requirements into actionable project plans.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to managing challenges.

  • Proven leadership in driving cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) or network function virtualization (NFV) projects.

  • Knowledge of 5G enterprise use cases and private network deployments.

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role, such as consulting or technical account management.

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or ITIL are a plus.
