Job Description

Role Summary

You will work with cross-functional teams to drive IFRS 17-related projects, and to optimize our financial reporting workflow, with the purpose of ensuring timely and accurate financial information, facilitating month-end closing, and automating reporting processes in accordance with the IFRS 17 standards. On a day-to-day basis, you will collaborate with actuaries and data engineers on ETL setup, general ledger integration, and group reporting, while driving improvements in financial reporting and budgeting.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management experience in IFRS 17 within the insurance industry, analytical skills, and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels.


Your Key Responsibilities Include:

1. ETL Setup, Implementation, and Testing
Participate in ETL setup by providing insights into existing company practices and constraints. Upon completion of the ETL infrastructure, examine SIT results with the engineering team and perform UAT testing.

2. IFRS 17 Accounting Posting, General Ledger Implementation, and Testing
Assist the vendor/senior manager with IFRS 17 implementation. After setup, examine SIT results and perform UAT testing.

3. General Ledger Integration
Implement the bridge between IFRS 4 and IFRS 17, inputting all general entries into SunGL. Perform entry/data reconciliation and develop reporting tools.

4. Gap Analysis
Collaborate with the actuarial department and finance manager to analyse General Measurement Model (GMM) results and reporting.

5. Group reporting
Prepare reports for parent companies and the upstream finance department.

After the IFRS 17 project(s)

1. IFRS 17/ reporting transformation
Enable the finance team to perform month-end closing, automate the financial reporting process, and shorten the reporting timeline. This includes group consolidation reporting.

2. Company budgeting
Develop and implement company budgeting tools and functionalities.

3. Other finance projects
Contribute to other finance projects as needed.

 

About you
  • 3+ years of proven experience in IFRS 17 project management within the insurance industry.
  • 4 + years of experience in group reporting or auditing in the insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English, and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
