Assistant Buyer

Role Purpose:

This role will be responsible for assisting the Buying Manager to maximize sales and profit for the category.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with Buying Manager in execute buying activities, stock planning, allocation and reordering situations to meet company business objectives

• Support Buying Manager in handling all merchandising related issues to ensure timely management for all orders and deliveries

• Regular review and tracking sales performance through creating timely and accurate weekly/ monthly sales report and analysis

• Reviewing order status to understand inventory status issues and potential impacts and raise concerns

• Allocation of merchandise including initial allocation and replenishment

• Provide merchandise support for promotion events and markdown plan

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design on product development, retail operation, marketing and visual merchandising to drive product launches, promotions, and seasonal product training workshops 

• Undertake ad hoc assignments and any other duties as required by the management

Requirements:

• Degree in related disciplines

• 2-3 years of relevant working experience in buying and merchandising, preferably in the fashion / retail industry 

• Proactive, sensitive to figures and strong analytical and negotiation skills

• Proficiency in MS applications and excellence in Excel is a MUST

• Strong Communication, interpersonal and presentation skill

• Positive and able to work under pressure

• Can cope with changes and think about problems and solutions

• Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English
